In view of the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16/05/2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08/05/2009, the ragging is completed banned. In order to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging an Anti Ragging Committee is constituted as under:

The Anti Ragging Squad shall make surprise raids/visits/ in canteen/parking area/student gatherings and others hot spots and is empowered to inspect places of potential Ragging. The Anti Ragging Squad will work under the overall guidance of Anti Ragging Committee.
Ragging Notification:
University Grants Commission (UGC) has made an anti-ragging web portal www.antiragging.in endorsed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), aiming to eliminate ragging in all its forms.
Students and their parents are required to submit their anti-ragging affidavits online at this website. It should be clear to the students that submission of affidavits on a stamp paper is not necessary, and the same can be submitted on a simple paper on prescribed format, or electronically at www.antiragging.in
After filling the affidavits students are required to submit dully signed in affidavits to the Institute. (PC/ RO).Submission of the affidavits is mandatory as per UGC REGULATIONS ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009, and any failure on part of the institution/student may attract penalties from UGC.
The website also makes clear that one can register a complaint (even anonymously!), 24×7, any time of the day or night, against any or every incident of ragging at any level through telephone helpline or email. Students, parents, relatives or anyone can also file a complaint to helpline@antiragging.net and can request for maintaining their anonymity, if they do not want to disclose their identity.
As per the website, even if a student has directly gone to their head of institutions or anti-ragging squad and made a complaint, the college should ensure that the victim complaints with the anti-ragging helpline as well.
Also, it is important to note that upon receiving any complaint of serious ragging, the college has to itself register an F.I.R. with the local police, as per the supreme court decision and followed by the UGC REGULATIONS ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009, with 24 hours of the receipt of the complaint.
Rules & Regulations for Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging:
The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi vide its Notification no. 37-3/Legal/AICTE/2009 dated 25-03-2009 has taken a very serious view of ragging incidences in educational institutions and on Directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide its Order dated 16.5.2007 has ordered strict implementation of following rules & regulations for Prevention and prohibition of Ragging in technical Institutions.
